HIST 106B. Islamic Societies: The Making of the Muslim East (3).
An Introduction to the history of Islamic societies, this course explores
key historical events, social and political turning points, and intellectual
transformations that have shaped the Middle East and Islam.
Expectations
- No arguing with us
- At least a C (2.0) in at least 4 classes (12+ credit hours). The number
of classes will increase for the future semesters
- No grades of C- or below in any class. It is OK to withdraw from a class
(and have it not count in your GPA) if you keep at least 4 classes
- Attend every class on your computer in the kitchen
- Need to be awake with enough time before class to be dressed and ready
to actively pay attention and participate in the class
- No music or videos during class
- No chatting with others during class
- Complete every assignment and turn in on time
- Complete all homework, even if it does not need to be turned in to the teacher
- Complete every reading assignment on time.
- Utilize all available accommodations
- No videos/TV/etc... until all classes and school-work are complete
- Set bed time and set time to awake
- Healthy eating habits - no late night snacks/meals
- No trips in the fall semester
- Daily review of all classes and assignments before any free/screen time
- No drugs at our house
- Reduced contact with Kaleigh - currently 1 hour of phone time a day. May
be reduced if they are chatting via other means.
